I'm heading to
China to do volunteer work! This may be my last post for a
couple of weeks while I'm gone. I've mainly been following the
Autoimmune Protocol over the last couple of months (I am learning more
about the diet and doing the best I can at this point). This will be the
first long trip I'll be taking since eating this way, so I am
definitely a little worried about my options there. I know I'll be able
to find meat, fish, and vegetables, but it's more about the soy, oils,
and the quality of food I'm concerned about. The good news is that
wheat is not a popular used grain in China, so I'll be safer on that
front. My body actually does okay with white rice, so that's a good
thing.
For the plane I plan on bringing a
large container of guacomole with plantain chips and cut up
carrots/celery. As well as a salad with some type of protein (it will
be frozen and then slowly defrost on the plane).
What should I pack?
I
literally am bringing a suitcase full of packaged (snack) food hoping
that the border control will have no problems with this.
Here's my list:
AIP approved:
Epic bars- this is the only one that is AIP approved
Trader Joes just fruit bars (coconut and apple)
Dried coconut chips
Tea bags - herbal teas including roobis, ginger, and dandelion root
Organic dried fruit- apricots
Sea salt
Kelp salt
Sardines
Sweet potato baby food in squeezable packet
Paleo:
Sprouted pumpkin seeds
Cashew cookie bars- Larabar
Wish me luck!
