These are some podcasts I highly recommend. I'm always looking for new ones, so feel free to let me know which ones you love!
This
is a newer podcast developed by Eileen Laird who faces autoimmune
challenges herself and follows the AIP diet. I dig her calming voice
and her less chatty-like approach to sharing wellness stories with her listeners. She's really good at conveying information and getting her interviewees to stay on point, by answering three specific questions. I enjoyed the episode on Autoimmunity and Infertility. Her
husband creates and plays the relaxing music on the show.
If
you follow a paleo diet, I'm sure you will have heard of the Paleo Mom, Sarah
Ballantyne. She is one of the women who is responsible for bringing paleo to the mainstream and has written several books about it. She is
trying to develop a Paleo Bites TV series, and her medical biophysics
background helps to back her claims for pro-paleo. Sarah and Stacy Toth join forces and put out this weekly podcast about a large
variety of subjects geared toward the paleo audience. The podcast
itself has a lot of great information, but be warned there is some amount of general chit chat to get through. Sometimes I don't mind the chatter but other
times I do, depending on my mood. Overall,
I really like this podcast and would recommend it.
Dr. Sarah Gottfried (Harvard trained MD) and Pedram Shojai (Doctor of
Oriental Medicine and Taoist priest) team together for this podcast
about "practical solutions of east meets west". This was one of the
first podcasts I listened to as I started my health journey. I enjoy
Dr. Sarah's and Pedram's quirky relationship as they tackle all sorts of
health topics together. Making Sense of Grains is a great episode to get to know what the Health Bridge is all about. "Dr. Sarah" has recently moved on to bigger and better things, will no longer be recording the podcast, but she will be missed.
Another notable health nut is Chris Cressor, who is often quoted by other podcasters. He seems to be the "Big Man on Campus" of the Paleo community. Occasionally, his podcast gets so bogged down with the science, that he misses the real life application guidelines. This episode is a good one to learn about reasons to eat vegetables, with lots of research backing it up.
